Abacus is a precious cultural heritage of our country and a major contribution made by our country to world civilization. For thousands of years, abacus has played an indelible role in the economic life of our people. Even computers entering the era of electronic computers can not replace abacus. As early as his meeting with Chinese American physicist Li Zhengdao on October 14, 1972, Premier Chou pointed out when referring to the fourth generation of electronic computers: “To caution below, do not throw away the abacus and eat peaches the most dangerous” . However, the development of abacus in our country has long been stagnant. Especially after the advent of electronic calculators, some people talked about “abacus absent, abacus abolished” and neglected the improvement of abacus arithmetic.
