南美白对虾(Penaeus vannamei)原产南美太平洋沿岸水域,以厄瓜多尔分布最为集中,是当今世界养殖虾类产量最高的三大品种之一。与中国对虾相比具有生长快、适应性强、抗病能力强、对饵料营养要求低等特点。2001年6～10月我们在江苏省江都市吴堡镇利用罗氏沼虾培育池进行了南美白对虾内陆淡水池养试验,取得较高的产量和效益,同时也积累了一些经验。
South American white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) originated in the South Pacific coast waters, the most concentrated in Ecuador, is today the world’s shrimp farming one of the top three varieties. Compared with Chinese shrimp, it has the characteristics of fast growth, strong adaptability, strong disease resistance and low nutritional requirements for food. From June to October, 2001, we conducted in-pond freshwater pond culture experiment of Penaeus vannamei in Wu Bao Town, Jiangdu City, Jiangsu Province with high yield and benefit, and accumulated some experiences.
