层序的形成及其特征受多种因素的控制,构造运动、全球海平面变化和沉积物供给的变化在沉积中所扮演的角色很难分开。目前层序地层学一个重要的研究前沿是努力完善对沉积环境和动力背景下控制沉积物搬运和聚集的诸多内部相关因素的认识。本文对层序地层学中最具争议的问题——层序边界的产生进行了讨论,认为并非所有的层序边界都是由海平面的变化而快速形成的,当海平面变化的速率较小时,层序边界可以通过沉积物逐渐向盆地方向扩展和随后发生的沉积物过路带的埋藏和(或)剥蚀而逐渐形成。此外,本文还对构造活动盆地中层序边界的形成机制及面内作用力在层序边界产生过程中的作用进行了讨论。
The formation and characterization of sequences are controlled by many factors. It is difficult to separate the roles played by tectonic movements, global sea level changes and changes in sediment supply in deposition. At present, an important research front of sequence stratigraphy is trying to improve the understanding of many internal related factors that control sediment transport and accumulation under sedimentary environment and dynamic background. In this paper, the most controversial issue in sequence stratigraphy, the sequence boundary, is discussed. It is concluded that not all sequence boundaries are rapidly formed by sea level changes. When the rate of sea level change is small , The sequence boundaries can be gradually formed by the gradual deposition of sediments toward the basin and subsequent burial and / or denudation of the sediment pass. In addition, the paper also discusses the formation mechanism of sequence boundary in the tectonic basin and the role of in-plane force in the sequence boundary generation.
