英国在19世纪中期之后对美国的投资一直占有重要地位,但这种投资的性质国内学术界尚没有进行深入的研究。本文根据收集的资料,认为这一时期英国在经济上仍有优势,所以,英国对美国的投资,对美国在内战后的经济发展具有推动作用,同时,在英国也具有正面和负面两方面的作用。正确认识这些作用,将有助于我们更加全面和深入地认识这一时期的英国历史。 British investment in the United States has always occupied an important position since the mid-19th century. However, the nature of this investment has not been studied domestically and academically. Based on the information collected, this article holds that Britain still has an economic advantage during this period. Therefore, the British investment in the United States has played a catalytic role in the economic development of the United States after the Civil War. In the meantime, it also has positive and negative aspects in the United Kingdom effect. Correct understanding of these roles will help us to understand more fully and deeply the history of Britain during this period.
