长久以来,比利时这个在烹饪上仅次于法国的欧洲国家以其巧克力而著称,但比利时也是一个伟大的奶酪国度。尽管比利时国土面积狭小,但却能生产像法国一样多的奶酪品种。据说,比利时盛产将近三百种奶酪,但大都不出口。比利时奶酪主要分成三大类:修道院的僧侣们生产的Chimay Grand Cru奶酪,产自南部山区的Capra Honey Goat奶酪以及Passendale半软质奶酪。
Belgium has long been known for its chocolate, the culinary second only to France, but Belgium is also a great cheese country. Despite its small size, Belgium can produce as many cheese varieties as France. It is said that Belgium is rich in nearly 300 kinds of cheese, but most do not export. Belgian cheeses are divided into three major categories: Chimay Grand Cru cheese from monastic monks, Capra Honey Goat cheese from the southern mountains and Passendale semi-soft cheese.
