随着人类社会的不断进步,信息交互带来的社会生产力的加速发展日益明显。人们不仅仅满足于移动通信网所提供的传统的话音业务,对承载各种信息的数据通信需求也与日俱增。根据业界普遍的预测,未来10年,移动通信数据量的增长将超过1 000倍。为了满足未来业务量的发展,运营商只能依靠新增基站站址、增加频谱带宽、提升无线技术的频谱利用效率等手段。以现有的技术能力来看,新增大量的站址必将带来网络建设和运维成本的同比例提升,同时新站址的获取越来越难,使得通过简单的小区分裂来提升网络容量的方式越来越难以为继。所以,未来移动通信网络的发展,将更多地依赖更高的频谱使用效率和更多的频率资源。
