The immunofluorescence histochemistry triple labeling of Fos and calbindin D 2 8k (CB) was performed by fluorescent gold (FG) retrograde beam tracing and the effect of INV on the oral and facial upper gastrointestinal tract was observed Projection of CB neurons to the parabrachial nucleus (PB) with sexual information. The results showed that the expression of FG and Fos immunoreactive cells in perioral stimulation group were mainly distributed in PaMd and PaV of contralateral INV injected and stimulated. A large number of CB immunopositive cells were distributed On both sides INV. 77 3% of the FG negative cells in the ipsilateral INV were positive for CB immunization and 40 7% were positive for Fos immunoreactivity. In FG and CB double-labeled neurons, another part (about 385%) of FG / CB / Fos three standard cells. The number and distribution of FG retrograde cells, CB immunopositive cells and FG / CB double-labeled cells in the upper digestive tract stimulation group were similar to those in the perioral stimulation group, but Fos immunopositive cells were distributed in bilateral INVs. At the same side, FG, FG / Fos double labeled cells accounted for 41 9% of the total number of FG inverted cells and FG / CB / Fos triple labeled cells accounted for 502% of the FG / CB double labeled cells. The above results suggest that CB neurons directly projected to the PB by the INV receive nociceptive information of oral facial and upper digestive tract and CB neurons may participate in the transmission of peripheral nociceptive information via the INV relay to the PB
