The self-sufficiency of domestic raw materials used in Japan’s flexible polyurethane foams has been more than a decade, and Japan’s polyurethane industry is still in a very young age. Since entering the 1970s, it is gaining rapid development. In the world, polyurethanes have also noticeably and significantly increased. Their status can match that of the steel industry in the 1920s and the precedent of polyolefins in the 1940s. In the United States, it is estimated that the consumption will reach 1 million tons by 1975. In 1980 it reached 2 million tons. The domestic demand for soft and rigid foam products is steadily growing, and the use of non-foam fields such as elastomers and coatings is also booming. From household items such as bedding, furniture, clothing, and synthetic leather to automotive parts, ships, buildings, and factory equipment are used as industrial materials such as thermal insulation, and polyurethanes have the following characteristics and are expected to achieve brilliance.
