Fractures of the temporal bone are generally divided into longitudinal and transverse fractures. Internal ear function is normal longitudinal fracture; the incidence of facial paralysis is about 20%. Severe or complete sensory deafness were transverse fractures, the incidence of facial paralysis reached 50%. From 1974 to 1982, otologists performed surgery on 26 patients with facial paralysis caused by temporal bone longitudinal fractures. In the first few weeks, 22 cases were treated as early stage group, and more than 6 months after injury, facial function was not recovered, and 4 cases were treated as late stage group.
