Central attenuator is a key component in high-power microwave traveling wave tube. Microwave attenuation materials commonly used are beryllium oxide ceramics, alumina ceramics and hexagonal boron nitride, etc., but each of these materials have serious shortcomings, can not be used as an ideal microwave attenuation material. It is known that the thermal conductivity of diamond is excellent, but there is no report of useful foreign materials of high thermal conductivity polycrystalline diamond as a microwave attenuation material. This article describes the thermal conductivity of various types of diamond.
