值此金秋季节,美国文学研究会召开专题讨论会。我们自遥远的济南,也即我会酝酿成立的故地,向同志们问好！ 获悉与会者多是中青年同志,我们感到非常高兴！可喜我会成立十六年来不断增添新生力量。后继有人,必将硕果累累！唯愿在研究美国文学传统的同时,不断注意其发展的新主流,新动向,以求跟上时代的步伐。 回顾78年的济南会议,79年的烟台成立大会仿佛就在昨天。当年兴办的老同志有的仍是火红的夕阳,与青年同志并肩奋斗,如在座的汤永宽同志。祝他们松柏长青！但也有几位不幸作古;许多也因年迈退下。俱往矣！然而我们的新生力量正如朝日东升,光芒万丈。数风流人物,还看今朝！ 我会兴办于粉碎“四人帮”后的百废待举之际;成长至今天改革、开放的大有作为之时,前途无量！谨祝 大会胜利召开！同志们身体健康！
