位片式微处理器和一般的单片式微处理器,如Z80,M6800,Inter8080等有很大的不同,通常单片式微处理器的MPU内包含了指令译码、数据处理,存储器寻址等全部功能。这些功能由器件制造厂所规定,用户不能改变,而位片式微处理器财是由不同功能的若干种、若干片器件组成,其指令系统、数据处理、寻址方式等功能是由设计者按使用要求确定的,这些功能还可以根据要求变动而进行修改或增补,也就是说位片式微处理器所完成的功能、指令系统、寻址方式等都是可变化的。位片式处理器的基本结构如图一所示。数据处理部分以处理器(ALU)为中心,控制部分以微程序控制器为中心。
