1996年12月7日,前往斯德哥尔摩领取诺贝尔文学奖的波兰女诗人维·希姆博尔斯卡应瑞典文学院之邀,作了题为《诗人与世界》的讲演。在12月10日举行的颁奖典礼上,由瑞典著名女作家比吉塔·特罗兹格(Birgitta Trotzig)作了简略介绍后,随即瑞典国王卡罗尔·古斯塔夫十六世向希姆博尔斯卡颁发了奖章和证书。在正式讲演《诗人与世界》之前,女诗人还说了这样几句话:“一般在讲演时,第一句话是最困难的,不过我已经度过了……但是我觉得以后的讲话也是困难的。第三句、第六句、第九句,直到最后一句都很困难,因为我要讲的是诗歌。”
On December 7, 1996, Vythi Bolska, a Polish woman poet who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in Stockholm, gave a lecture entitled “Poets and the World” at the invitation of the Swedish Literature Institute.
