In 1995, the civil transport aircraft market finally started to rise. Although 1995 was not a bumper year for the three companies, the increase in new aircraft orders has fully demonstrated the improvement of the market. In 1995, more than 500 new aircraft were ordered by Boeing, Airbus and McDonnell Douglas, worth more than 35 billion U.S. dollars. Aircraft ordering reserves have increased for the first time since the recession.
