Objective To understand the malaria epidemic characteristics and control effect after basically eliminating malaria in Luzhou City and to provide evidence for the prevention and control strategies and measures so as to achieve the goal of eliminating malaria on schedule. Methods Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the malaria epidemic data of Luzhou from 2005 to 2012. Results A total of 95 cases of malaria were reported in 8 years without death, with an average annual incidence rate of 0.03 / million. No secondary second-generation cases and outbreaks were reported. There were 56 cases of Plasmodium falciparum, 32 cases of Plasmodium falciparum (1 case of mixed infection) and 7 cases of undifferentiated cases. The incidence of each case was fluctuating downward. There were 31 local cases (no falciparum malaria) and 64 cases of human cases 32 cases of falciparum malaria), the constituent ratio of imported malaria increased year by year. Anopheles sinensis is the only mosquito species to pass on and the average density of female mosquitoes is 0.13 / (Taiwan .h). Conclusion The comprehensive prevention and treatment measures of Luzhou City after the achievement of the standard of eliminating malaria basically eliminate the source of infection, control the transmission route, strengthen the surveillance of epidemic situation and timely find out and control the current disease patients. Due to the objective existence of malaria transmission media, imported malaria has become a major risk factor in Luzhou City. Strengthening monitoring and media control of floating population is the key to consolidating malaria prevention and treatment results and achieving malaria elimination.
