The survey included the basic information of population such as sex, age, education level and occupation; Exposure to tobacco control information, health warnings on cigarette packs, cigarette warnings and other media and cognitive information; whether they care about smoking at home, etc. Logistic regression analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0 software. Results The smoking prevalence of male residents aged 15 years and over in Tianjin was 43.4% and that of women was 4.3%. The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the educational level of primary and secondary education was higher (OR = 1.81, 95% CI: 1.05 ~ 3.13) than that of junior college or above education level (OR = 21.91,95% CI: 15.25-31.1) (OR = 1.70, 95% CI: 1.14-2.53), high school and college education (OR = 1.51,95% CI: 1.03-2.21)] and smoking in the home (OR = 10.25, 95% CI: 7.60 ~ 13.82) is a key factor affecting smoking behavior. Conclusion The prevalence of smoking among urban residents in Tianjin is still high, and tobacco work is facing great challenges. To increase the ban on tobacco advertising and to strengthen tobacco control publicity are of great significance for tobacco control interventions.
