近代“中国印象”在西方由18世纪到20世纪的传播和转变,表现为从崇尚到歧视的翻转,体现了中国古老农耕文明对西方工业文明的落差。本文以世博会上的晚清中国为考察线索,以影像中出现的“中国人”“中国馆”和“中国展品”为观察对象进行系统梳理,回顾百年之前西方主流世界形塑近代中国、建立西方世界中的“中国印象”的过程,着力探讨西方世界看中国是如何由主观演绎到形象曲解、直至文化歧视的历程,审视近代“中国印象”在西方世界中的变迁轨迹。
The dissemination and transformation of modern China ’s “China Impression ” in the West from the 18th century to the 20th century manifested itself as a reversal from advocating to discrimination, reflecting the gap between ancient Chinese agricultural civilization and western industrial civilization. This article takes the Late Qing Dynasty in China as the clue and systematically reviews the “Chinese”, “China Pavilion” and “China Exhibits” appearing in the images.
