As a pioneer in actively promoting and celebrating black culture, Zola Neil Heston incorporated a unique black folk culture in “They See God,” a large number of black dialects, black sermons, Black folklore and other African traditional oral traditions. The application of these elements not only helps to shape the growing process of black women’s self-awareness, but also reflects the gradual awakening of the black ethnic cultural awareness.
