Toni Morrison is a black woman writer with strong political consciousness. She stressed that the work must have political significance, which is the strength of the work. Therefore, in the novel creation, Morrison consciously incorporated the past and current African American realities into the text in order to show the life of blacks distorted by racial discrimination. Morrison was not satisfied with exposing the unfairness of the social system. She also sought to heal the black wounds of the black people through literary discourses and called on the black people to seek the roots of the lost culture and rebuild their national consciousness. The novel “darling” more fully reflects Morrison’s understanding of the reconstruction of black culture.
