《宋书·乐志》载有清商瑟调“十五大曲”的曲辞,是目前所能见到的最早的大曲文献实例,其流行与当时清商署之设置、功能与性质有密切关系。由于西晋一朝乐官机构改革力度相当大,变更了曹魏清商署音乐表演局限于皇宫殿阁的特点,从而推动了清商大曲在朝廷上和社会上的传播,所以十五大曲的“流行年代”理应定在西晋。此外,作为鲜卑族民歌的《阿干之歌》和《真人代歌》或多或少都曾受到西晋大曲形式的影响,这也补充证明了十五大曲的真正流行年代应在西晋时期,而这两首民族歌曲在文学史、音乐史上的价值也再次获得肯定。
