The meeting’s perspectives and projects demonstrate the new museum’s development in Asia. Although the term “eco-museum” encompasses different entities, its essence is to protect the heritage in a research and experimental manner, to develop the community through the joint actions of museums and community residents and to protect the culture that is on the verge of disappearance. The society as a whole has accepted the standardization of the world at an extremely rapid pace. This standardization has also affected mainstream museums and cultural policies, and marginalized human groups are growing both in rural and urban areas. Marginalized human groups are now distributed in several countries and have hundreds of millions of people. With the exception of China’s Ecosystem Museum, we received such information and status from a number of countries at this conference.
