Abstract Objective To evaluate the accuracy and repeatability of multi-substance separation (MMD) for clinical liver fat quantification and to compare the performance of MMD algorithm and MR spectroscopy with liver biopsy as the reference standard. Materials and Methods The prospective study was approved by ethics committees and patients signed informed consent. Thirty-three patients with suspected steatosis underwent non-contrast enhancement and three-phase contrast enhancement dual-energy CT (80 and 140 k Vp) and monomeric proton MR spectroscopy within 30 days before liver biopsy. The fat volume fraction (FVF) percentage image generated by the dual energy CT data MMD algorithm was used to measure liver fat content. use
