Introduction In late June 1954 and early July 1955, two-and-a-half weeks of vertebrate teaching internships were held in the second year of biology in Peking University. The internship includes a project called “Project Study”. First by the teaching and research department to develop some topics, so that each group of students (10-12 people) each pick a question. Then conduct collective independent observation and research outside of other designated work (such as outdoor observation, in-house learning and operation skills and visits to production and research departments, listening to reports, etc.). The scope of the topic is limited to vertebrates; the nature of the work is laboratory experiments, some field observation, and others are to visit and investigate the technical staff and the general public. A small group of them selected observations of the bat’s natural history. Members of this group
