Recently, controversy caused by 239 alphabets included in the 6th edition of the Dictionary of Modern Chinese continues. In particular, more than 100 scholars from within and outside the linguistic community jointly reported on August 29 that this practice violated the law and claimed the letter Endangering the purity and safety of Chinese, it has aroused widespread concern in society from the perspective of alphabetic words. All in all, hundreds of schools of thought contend with different opinions. The complexities of alphabetic words make one person’s speech exceptional. It seems that the debate will continue for a period of time. However, we found that although the debate was fierce, the depth of academic study was not enough. We think it is appropriate to put aside some specific issues and turn to the study of the alphabet itself and some related social and cultural issues. This issue of “rhetoric with the talk,” invited five scholars to express their views. They have different perspectives and different focuses, but they all lack the depth of thought. “Rhetoric with the conversation,” committed to become an academic platform for short-serving, collision of views, sincerely welcome you to participate in the discussion on the academic level of the alphabet. If you form a systematic view of this, but also welcome to write the article Huicui publication.
