The Inter-American Development Bank has provided Brazil with a loan of 122 million U.S. dollars for the construction of a transmission line connecting Itaipu to the industrial area around São Paulo. This long 750kV transmission line is 900km long, with a construction cost of about 407 million U.S. dollars. 70% of the investment by the Brazilian Central Power Company.
