一、主风缸容积的选择主风缸是为储存制动装置所需的压缩空气而设置。它的空气压力应高于列车管的充风定压,以保证在制动装置用风时能使压缩机可靠的周期性运转,并有利于降低压缩空气的相对温度。此外,总风缸自身就起冷却压缩空气作用并析出其中的水和油。总风缸数的选择由其所牵引的车列类型所决定。在机车、电动和内燃动车组上可能有一、二个直至十个主风缸不等,其容积在250升到2160升范围内。这样选择是考虑到压缩机的供风能力并保证向制动装置充风以获得最良好的缓解作用。总风缸容积一般按下式选择:
