《自然通讯》(Nature Communications)7月24日报道,英国剑桥大学卡文迪许实验室的亚历山大·芬尼莫尔(Alexander Finnemore)所在的研究团队,首次成功地合成了珍珠层。人工合成的珍珠层不仅能呈现出彩虹般的变彩,还具有和天然珍珠层几乎一模一样的微观结构。珍珠层又叫珍珠质,主要化学成分是碳酸钙,主要矿物相是文石,存在于珍珠和部分贝壳中,是由软体动物的外套膜分泌的。它表面彩虹般的变彩,是由于光进入规则排列的六边形文石小片以后发生干涉形成的。文石小片之间附有大量微孔的有机质薄膜。碳酸钙和有机质薄膜像“砖块-水泥”一样交替堆积的结构,不仅使珍珠层具备 Nature Communications reported on July 24 that for the first time, a team of researchers at Alexander Finnemore in the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom successfully synthesized the nacre.
