政治参与是政治民主的核心和政治现代化的重要标志。邓小平历来热情支持广大人民群众参与政治，行使当家作主的民主权利。他认为，参与民主选举、参与民主管理、参与民主监督是广大人民群众参与政治的基本形式，保持稳定是人民群众参与政治的基本要求。必须加强党对政治参与的领导，加强政治参与的制度建设，逐步扩大政治参与度。
Political participation is an important symbol of political democracy and political modernization. Deng Xiaoping has always been enthusiastic about supporting the broad masses of the people in participating in politics and exercising the democratic rights of being the masters of their own affairs. He believes that participation in democratic election, participation in democratic management and participation in democratic oversight are the basic forms of mass participation of the general public in politics. Maintaining stability is a basic requirement for the masses to participate in politics. We must strengthen the Party’s leadership over political participation, strengthen the system of political participation and gradually expand the degree of political participation.
