There are a number of ways in which foundation treatments can be used to improve the performance of poor foundation soils, some of which have been used for many years and some have been developed in recent years. The methods, products, systems and construction equipment of foundation treatment have developed rapidly and formed a large-scale knowledge system. Choosing the most suitable foundation treatment is a complex undertaking that depends on the available knowledge and on site-specific issues and site-specific factors. This paper summarizes and discusses these factors from the perspective of the necessary factors for the success of the foundation treatment project, thus introducing and elaborating a new and comprehensive information-oriented and guidance system for the foundation-based treatment of the ground. This system integrates relevant knowledge and helps users to make a wise decision. The system can be incorporated into engineering and construction practices to incorporate these necessary elements.
