Objective To observe the effect of simulated food model on diet control in patients with diabetes mellitus and the degree of mastery of nutritional knowledge. Methods Fifty-five patients with type II diabetes who were diagnosed were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. The control group received outpatient classroom education or individual theory of dietary diabetes diet. The experimental group used simulated food model for dietary education. Nutritional scores, fasting blood glucose (FBG), postprandial blood glucose (PBG), HbAlc, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and other tests. Results The experimental group had a good grasp of diabetes nutrition knowledge, and the control of FBG, PBG, HbAlc, TG, TC, HDL-C and LDL-C was also better than that of the control group. Conclusion The simulation food model for dietary education of diabetic patients is conducive to the control of diabetes patients to master the principles and methods to achieve better control of diabetes purposes.
