Significant increase in domestic demand for maize For China’s maize, the outbreak of “SARS” and “bird flu” successively occurred in the past two years has greatly affected the development of the industry and the consumption of corn. The year 2004/05 should enter a relatively normal period. The development of maize downstream industries will be more normal in these two years and the number of maize consumption will increase faster. In spite of this, the demand for maize in the feed industry in the recent three years is still increasing at an annual rate of over 2 million tons. 04/05 will not be lower than this figure, so feed consumption is estimated at around 10,000 tons. The development of corn deep-processing industry is obvious to all people in recent years. The industry output in 04/05 increased significantly, and consumption is expected to be at least unchanged from the previous year. Among other consumption, the changes in consumption of seeds and loss each year are not large, and the reduction of consumption of corn rations is also slow. Add up, is expected to 04/05
