长期以来,中国的百货零售企业在我国零售市场中一直占有主导地位。随着国家经济的发展和市场的逐步扩大,百货零售企业的优势地位越来越受到来自超级市场、专业商店、仓储商店等新型业态的影响,而中国加入WTO,则使中国的百货零售企业面临更大的挑战。面对这一现状,如何顺应形势、调整策略、持续发展百货业的地位和作用,探讨演变规律和发展思路;如何促进国内百货业与世界著名百货企业的交流,已成为中国百货业面临的紧迫课题。为此,中国百货商业协会于2003年2月28日在北京港澳中心瑞士酒店举办了中国百货业高峰论坛2003’,旨在探讨和寻求中国百货业的未来之路。此次高峰论坛由中国百货商业协会主办,国家经贸委贸易市场局指导,赛特集团、林麦集团协办,北京锐迪流通经济研究所承办。中国百货商业协会理事长范文明先生作为主办单位领导向与会者致辞,国家经贸委市场局局长黄海先生介绍了我国入世后零售业面临的形势。中国人民大学教授李金轩先生、大连大商集团总裁吕伟顺先生、赛特集团总裁王辛民先生、上海一百集团董事长张新生先生等从多角度探讨了中国百货业的发展策略与思路。Sears(美)、Hudson’s Bay(加)、Lafayette(法)、Estee Lauder(美)、Selfridges(英)等世界著名百货商店和公司的CEO也作了关于西方百货业的发展历史及未来趋势的精彩报告。 2003年3月1日下午,中国百货业高峰论坛2003’在中国百货商业协会秘书长楚修齐先生的答谢辞声中闭幕。
