瓦斯是煤矿最主要的自然灾害之一。尽管在煤矿都设有专门的瓦斯检查员,每天进行巡回检测;但是瓦斯灾害还没有彻底根除,瓦斯爆炸事故仍有发生,并且严重地威胁着矿井的安全。事实证明,单靠瓦斯检查员巡回检测是不够的,是不能彻底解决瓦斯检测问题的,因而必须发展瓦斯自动监测装置和系统。在这方面,我国早已开始研究,利用催化元件先后研制出携带型仪器和数种瓦斯自动监测装置,但是发展速度不快,还远远没有达到普及的程度。瓦斯监测系统发
Gas is one of the most important natural disasters in coal mines.
