The development of new spray preforms focused on the best features of general forging and powder metallurgy. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, this method produces dense, high-strength forgings at attractive prices. Most gears, connecting rods, rocker arms and other high-strength metal parts are forged from powder metallurgy or from ingots or hot-rolled materials. These commonly used manufacturing methods each have certain advantages, but also have drawbacks related to the performance of other parts or the manufacturing economy. Forgings made in the usual way have good mechanical properties, but produce large amounts of flash debris during the production process. Any defects in the ingot or rolled stock material can also affect the quality of the forging. Powder metallurgy parts can do very complex shapes (often no longer require machining), strict control of the ingredients, the other pieces are basically isotropic mechanical properties. The impact performance is generally worse than forgings. Other shortcomings of powder metallurgy method is the price of metal powder is quite expensive and the manufacturing process is more complicated.
