In recent years, found that low maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein (MSAFP) levels and Down’s syndrome. Another aspect was uncovered during the MSAFP census, and other pregnancy-related events also occurred in those with low measures, a concern that has drawn people’s attention. In conclusion, pregnancies with MSAFP values <0.5 Multiples of the median (MOM) do not increase the risk of inability to survive the fetus, but pregnancies with very low MSAFP levels (<10 ng / ml) increase their risk. Some published maternal studies studying very low levels of MSAFP have long argued that ten out of ten viable surviving fetuses in this group have been identified as having an increased likelihood of having a wrong pregnancy date and no surviving pregnancy. However, there are no unanimous opinions as to whether very low levels of MSAFP indicate an existing fetal death or indeed a sign of inability to survive. The information in this article is from a screening case plan. For low-MSAFP mothers, routine ultrasound examination is recommended. The result is that almost all of the fetuses have died while being screened. Almost all of them occurred within the group of essentially undetectable MSAFP values (<5 ng / ml).
