Many universities have accumulated a wealth of experience in defining the quality assurance system, building the quality assurance units within their universities as well as formulating and implementing the academic standards. In order perfect the internal quality assurance systems, some European countries began to set up the evaluation criteria, using systematic evaluation procedures, implementing the periodic on-site visits and providing timely evaluation reports and suggestions for the university reform.
