北京故宫作为中国最后两个封建王朝的宫廷建筑,处处体现着帝王的至高无上。民间大都知道“九五之尊”的说法,故宫的建筑的确与“九”和“五”两个数字有关联,如闻名中外的天安门城楼其城台设五个门洞,面阔九间,进深五间。故宫中许多建筑物的开门多为九间或五间,惟独太和殿的面宽是十一间,在整个故宫是独一无二的。这是为什么呢?“九”和“五”两个数字与封建宫廷生活的各个方面包括建筑
As the last two feudal court buildings in China, the Forbidden City in Beijing embodies the supremacy of the emperor. For the most part, most people know that the building of the Forbidden City is indeed connected with the figures of “nine” and “five”. For example, the city gates of the famous Tiananmen Tower in the world have five openings, Miankuo nine, into the deep five. Many of the buildings in the Forbidden City have nine or five open doors, but the size of the Hall of Supreme Harmony alone is eleven, which is unique throughout the Forbidden City.
