AKD中性/碱性抄纸,因AKD蜡熔点比常温高,当纸幅还没未燥时,AKD是以乳粒的形式存在,当湿纸幅进入干燥部,随着纸幅温度的升高,AKD乳粒会受热熔化而铺展。只有在一定温度下干燥后,才进行酯化反应,产生永久定着。因此温度是纸张抗水性能好坏的关键因素之一。干燥温度和熟化时间对成纸施胶度有很大的影响,干燥温度越高,纸的施胶度越高,且施胶发展熟化时间越短。当干燥温度低于90℃,AKD用量为0.2%时,不管自然熟化时间多长,其施胶度也难以达到应有的水平。因此,在保证不影响成纸质量的前提下,尽可能提高干燥温度,就可以达到较高的施胶效果和缩短施胶熟化时间。
