“,”Objective:To analyze the global trends of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemics, so as to provide basic data for epidemic prevention and control. Methods:The epidemiological data worldwide and the prevention and control policies implemented by governments of all countries before August 15, 2020 were collected. The cumulative incidence rate, cumulative mortality, cumulative fatality rate and values of five-day moving average time dependent reproduction number (n Rn t) were used to analyze the epidemic trends and discuss the effect of major policy measures.n Results:By August 15, a cumulative incidence of 2 766 per 10 000, a cumulative mortality rate of 0.10‰ and a cumulative case fatality rate of 4% had been reported globally. Qatar, Bahrain and San Marino were the top three countries in terms of cumulative incidence (per 10 000) of 404.41, 280.61 and 208.69, respectively. San Marino, Belgium and Peru were the top three countries with the cumulative mortality rates (‰) of 1.22, 0.87 and 0.80, respectively. Yemen, France and Italy were the top three countries with the cumulative fatality rates (%) of 28.42, 14.33 and 13.94, respectively. By August 15, the top five n Rn t (95%n CI) were New Zealand 6.63 (4.57, 9.08), Botswana 2.43 (2.16, 2.71) and Myanmar 2.20 (1.64, 2.51).n Conclusions:By August 15, COVID-19 was leveling off in most countries around the world. Some countries experienced the recurrence of epidemics. This should be vigilant and timely prevention and control measures would be necessary.
