一个过去并不起眼的小镇——湖北省随州市洛阳镇,如今在全省,甚至全国掀起了一股“银杏”的火爆热浪。 洛阳镇地处大洪山北麓。土地肥沃,气候温和,适应于银杏树的生长。过去,靠老祖宗留下一批古银树,百年以上古银杏4637株,其中千年以上97株。洛阳镇湖家河村有一株大银杏树,“户口卡”上纪录这树已有1300年的树龄,一年可产银杏果500-800斤,创收万余元。全国银杏产量湖北占70％,随州占全省80％,洛阳镇占全市90％。因而,洛阳镇有“银杏之乡”的美称。
