动画艺术的世界是超现实的世界,动画的镜头感设计也是一种虚拟的手段,将虚拟的摄像机镜头运用在动画设计中。除动画设计中的虚拟摄像机本身运动外,其它的场景镜头都是绘画设计出来的。虽然虚拟的动画摄像机不能拍出一些特殊的效果,例如:旋转镜头,大透视镜头等等,但是在动画的镜头设计中是可以实现一些特殊效果的。各种的实拍手段、摄影轨迹运动、场面调度等,都可以在动画镜头设计中展示出来,动画镜头能模拟出所有的实拍效果。有时动画的镜头设计表现力可以超过影视的实拍,因为它不受真实环境中的各种因素的限制。动画艺术的镜头设计包括:摄像机自身的运动产生的画面效果以及由画面设计的变化产生的镜头运动效果。这些都要借助于镜头艺术语言,以达到设计者需要的镜头感。动画镜头它实际上是用绘画来模拟电影镜头的运动,例如:动画是把背景的变化绘制出来,然后再拍摄下来,看起来在运动镜头,因为背景在变,实际上那不是在运动镜头,只是画面变化产生的视觉效应。
