On December 11, 2002, China officially joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) for a whole year. In 2002, under the general global downturn, China’s economy maintained its rapid growth with the favorable external environment created by accession to the WTO. It is expected that the annual growth rate will reach 8% and will exceed 10 trillion yuan for the first time. With regard to the various changes brought about by the accession to the WTO, every industry and every enterprise in China has felt it to varying degrees and vividly called “the transformation of the accession to the WTO.” However, it can not be ignored that international crude oil prices have been lingering at high levels in 2002, thus affecting all aspects of China’s economy. For the first time, China’s economic development is so close to the pulse of the international petroleum and petrochemical market. For the entire petroleum and petrochemical industry, 2002 is also an unforgettable year. Come back to look back, people will ask the first year of accession to the WTO, what changes have taken place in the oil and petrochemical industry, what changes have taken place in the enterprise, the next road and how to go?
