被誉为“中国的莎士比亚”的曹禺本质上是一位诗人,他常把戏剧当作“最高一类的诗”来写,他的话剧是诗与剧的融合,是神和韵的交织。从《雷雨》到《王昭君》,无论是题材的选择、意境的营造,还是情节的安排、手法的妙用、语言的创新,都渗透着强烈的创作主体意识和抒情韵味。正是这种诗意的特征使曹禺话剧成为了戏剧史上的经典之作。
Cao Yu, hailed as “China’s Shakespeare”, is essentially a poet who often writes drama as “the highest class of poems”. His drama is a fusion of poetry and drama, Intertwined rhyme. From “Thunderstorm” to “Wang Zhaojun”, both the theme selection, the creation of artistic conception, the arrangement of plot, the magical use of technique and the innovation of language permeate the strong creative subject consciousness and lyric flavor. It is this poetic feature that makes Cao Yu’s drama a classic in drama history.
