Built in 2001, the Dintelhaven Bridge in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is a three-span continuous rigid frame bridge spanning 185 meters. For the first time, the bridge is made of CFRP in vitro prestressed tendons in long-span prestressed concrete box girder bridges. Four full-length CFRP in-vitro prestress beams were used for the full bridge. Each CFRP external prestressing bundle consists of 91 CFRP bars with a diameter of 5 mm. Based on the relevant information, the article highlights the short-term and long-term load performance tests related to CFRP in vitro design and construction of the bridge, as well as the characteristics of the CFRP in vitro beam anchorage development and design details.
