本文基于刘易斯所提出的影响市场规模的分析框架,利用中国省级数据,检验了影响市场规模的因素。结果显示,影响市场规模的因素存在区域性的差异。相较于其它因素,东部地区提升社会化分工程度、中部地区提高人力储备和减少市场分割、西部地区增强人均购买力与发展铁路等交通设施,都更有利于各地区市场规模的扩大。在全国层面上,社会化分工的加深与人均购买力的提升都能增进市场规模,而贸易壁垒的存在则不利于市场规模的扩大。
Based on Lewis’ analysis of the impact of the market size, the paper tests the factors influencing the market size by using Chinese provincial data. The results show that the factors that affect the size of the market there are regional differences. Compared with other factors, the enhancement of social division of labor in eastern regions, the improvement of manpower reserves in central regions and the reduction of market segmentation, the enhancement of per capita purchasing power in the western region and the development of transport facilities such as railways are all conducive to the expansion of the market size in all regions. At the national level, the deepening of the social division of labor and the improvement of the purchasing power per capita all can increase the market size, while the existence of trade barriers is not conducive to the expansion of the market scale.
