2015年9月3日,云南省话剧院小剧场话剧专题研讨会在昆明滇池路怡景园培训中心成功举行。本次研讨会由云南省话剧院主办,有来自云南省文化厅、北京戏剧家协会、中国国家话剧院、云南戏剧家协会、云南省京剧院、云南艺术学院等单位和部门的相关领导和专家、学者,以及关心关注云南话剧事业的各媒体,演艺公司、文化传播公司、独立制作人、市场分析专家等热心人士,针对云南小剧场话剧的发展和云南省话剧院改制以来的改革探索之路,进行了专题研讨。云南省戏剧家协会主席、云南艺术学院院长吴卫民将此次会议称为“云南话剧史尤其是小剧场话剧运动史上一次里程碑式的事件”。
