A collection of essays edited by Polish scholars, Alice Monroe: Memories, Interpretations, Adaptations, and Comparisons presents the intertextuality of Monroe’s short stories in a multi-dimensional manner through the perspective of multiple dialogues. The study of Monroe in China is not thorough enough because of its intertextuality. The questions are not wide enough, the complexity of the story, the imperfection of openness, the lack of comparative research, and so on. The dissertation broke through these limitations with a wide range of intertextuality studies, creating a new space for interpretation and dialogue. In this paper, referring to the intertextual division introduced by Heidi Mu and Mason and the other intertextuality theories, this essay analyzes the intertextuality of Monroe. The book is of great academic value to fill the intertextual gap in Monroe’s study and to promote its development in depth.
