1986年7月到8月我有机会参加了有关数学教育的三次国际会议:第二届中英数学教育讨论会,第十届国际数学教育心理学会(PME 10)和国际数学家大会(86 ICM)。前两个会是七月中下旬在伦敦开的,后一个是八月上旬在美国伯克利(Berkeley)开的。在这几次会上接触了各国的一些数学家与数学教育家,听到一些报告,在伦敦还参观了几所中小学,听了些课,初步了解了国外数学教育界在想些什么,作些什么,遇到些什么问题,是怎样解决的。现在对这三个会的概况和从这三个会上反映出的几个主要问题,作一简单介绍。
From July to August 1986, I had the opportunity to participate in three international conferences on mathematics education: The Second Sino-British Mathematics Education Symposium, the 10th International Mathematical Psychology Association (PME 10) and the International Mathematicians Congress (86 ICM ). The first two will be held in London in late July and the latter will be in Berkeley, United States, in early August. On these occasions, I contacted mathematicians and math educators in various countries, heard some reports, visited several primary and secondary schools in London, and heard some lessons, and initially understood what the foreign mathematics education community was thinking. What to do, what problems are encountered, and how to solve them. We will now briefly describe the three conferences and the major issues reflected in the three conferences.
