Indian Buddhism due to Ming Patriarch’s name taboo in the Chinese literature can be seen at least four kinds of translation: Chen Na, domain dragon, Tong grant, Fang Xiang. The first three are ancient Chinese translations, derived from Sanskrit or proverbs; the last one comes from Tibetan translation, beginning with modern Buddhist studies. This paper focuses on the material about the “Chennai” taboo in the writings of Xuan Zang and his disciples. By combing the relevant records in the historical materials of Vatican, Han and Tibet, we examine the various possible primitives And the relationship between them. Finally, it presents a variety of pathways and causes of the evolution of the idioms in the form of graphs, trying to get a glimpse of the macro-history and process of Buddhist localization from the perspective of “positive solution” and “misunderstanding” of Sanskrit.
