“园艺作物品种改良国际学术讨论会暨桃国际工作会议”于1993年9月6～10日在北京召开。本次大会由中国园艺学会、国际园艺学会和意大利罗马果树试验研究所主办,中华人民共和国农业部科技司、国际合作司和农业司协办,主要目的在于交流近年来国际园艺作物品种改良及桃研究领域的成就和信息,增进园艺科学研究的国际交流与合作,促进国际园艺事业的繁荣和发展。参加会议的代表共350人,其中有来自美国、英国、法国、意大利、丹麦、波兰、澳大利亚、新西兰、日本、韩国等 23个国家和地区的国外代表116人以及国内27个省(市、自治区)的代表234人。大会开幕式由中国园艺学会副理事长陈俊愉教授主持。相重扬理事长致开幕词,并代表中国园艺学会对来自不同国家和地区的园艺学家表示热烈欢迎。国际园艺学会会长Ryozo Sakiyama先生、联合国粮农组织官员 W.O.Baudoin先生分别致辞。农业部吴亦侠副部长、中国科协副主席何康先生、中国农科院第一副院长沈桂芳教授分别在开幕式上讲了话,并向大会表示祝贺。
“International Symposium on Horticultural Crop Variety Improvement and Peach International Working Conference” was held in Beijing from September 6 to September 10, 1993. This conference is sponsored by Chinese Society of Horticulture, International Society of Horticulture and the Italian Institute of Experimental Fruits and Vegetables in Rome, and co-organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of International Cooperation and Department of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China. Its main purpose is to exchange ideas on varieties of horticultural crops and peach research in recent years Achievements and information in the field, promote international exchange and cooperation in horticultural science research, and promote the prosperity and development of international horticultural undertakings. A total of 350 delegates attended the conference, including 116 foreign delegates from 23 countries and regions including the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea, as well as 27 domestic provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions ) On behalf of 234 people. The opening ceremony of the ceremony was presided over by Professor Chen Junyu, vice chairman of China Society of Horticulture. Xiang Gang, director of the opening speech, on behalf of the Chinese Society of Horticulture on horticulturalists from different countries and regions, a warm welcome. Mr. Ryozo Sakiyama, President of International Society of Horticulture, and Mr. W. O. Baudoin, Officer of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations delivered speeches respectively. Vice Minister Wu Yixia of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. He Kang, vice chairman of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, and Professor Shen Guifang, the first vice president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, spoke at the opening ceremony and congratulated the General Assembly.
